Aman Shergill
Community Leader
Aman Shergill, born to a Sikh Family in the United Kingdom, leverages her diverse international experiences to drive socially conscious volunteer work. She has been committed to the broader community welfare while promoting selfless service, community activism, and diversity as an active member of the Montgomery County community since 2015. She always strives for integrity, unity, and advocacy in her leadership role as a volunteer. Aman’s contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, highlighting her impactful leadership and dedication to fostering unity and inclusivity.

Curtis Hart-Southworth
Coordinator Sevadar
Curtis Hart-Southworth is a husband, father, educator, and dog nut.
Missionary work in Japan, building a family by adoption, caregiver to elderly parents, food delivery volunteer, and career as an educator in public schools. As a math teacher at Winston Churchill High School, Curtis strives to improve his teaching practice using a heart-centered approach that mindfully focuses on the cognitive and emotional needs of each member of the classroom learning community. As the staff sponsor for Churchill’s motto “you matter” club, he shares his personal mental health story and encourages students to create a compassionate culture where every person matters.
Service is a core value that connects many facets of his life.

Melissa McKenna
Community Leader
Melissa is currently the Secretary for the NAACP Montgomery County, MD Branch and a Director with the Rockville Sister Cities Corporation. A Shakespearean scholar and former Director of Publications, she is happiest around books.
Melissa is a native Pennsylvanian turned long-term Gaithersburg resident. A dedicated advocate, she has worked tirelessly for education and community in Montgomery County, securing funding and serving in leadership roles in various organizations. Her enthusiasm extends to food security, disability rights, and supporting underrepresented communities. Her success comes from solid, working relationships with elected officials at all levels. Melissa’s passion for advocacy and problem solving has earned her numerous awards and accolades.

Gagan Singh
Vice President 1
Gagan brings over 25 years of experience in Information Technology, with a proven track record of success in both government and private sectors. As the President and CEO of Indersoft Technologies Inc., he leads a team delivering innovative solutions in technology services, consulting, and digital transformation. His expertise spans strategic planning, large-scale program management, and building high-performance teams.
Gagan is known for his collaborative leadership style, passion for service, and commitment to driving meaningful change

Nandini Diddee
Treasurer
Nandini Diddee, a resident of Derwood, MD, was born in India and raised in a family that
instilled core values of honesty, integrity, and community service. Inspired by her parents’
unwavering commitment to giving back, Nandini has always been passionate about serving
others and making a meaningful, positive impact in society.
She earned her CPA from the Colorado State Board of Accounting, holds a Chartered
Accountant designation from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and has a
Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from Delhi University.
With over 22 years of experience as Finance Director at Herson’s Auto Group, Nandini brings
extensive expertise in financial management, strategic planning and compliance. As Treasurer
for We Do Seva, she is excited to apply her skills and experience to support the nonprofit’s
mission and contribute to its ongoing growth and success.

Marla Kaplon
Secretary
Marla is a registered dietitian and currently works with the Senior Nutrition Program in the
Department of Health and Human Services in Montgomery County, MD. Her previous role
with the county was as the Food Coordinator of the Montgomery County Food Security Task
Force. This role was created during COVID 19, to provide food and fresh produce for
distribution to Montgomery County residents in need. Prior to her work with the task force,
Marla was the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Director of Food and Nutrition
Services as well as the MCPS Director of Student Wellness.
Marla’s passion has been to creatively think out of the box to support children, families, and
communities with a focus on providing healthy meals and on reducing food insecurity.
